Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele, a former Labour Party candidate for the House of Assembly, formally joined the APC on Friday with the backing of over 1,000 people (APC).
IWA, as he is affectionately known, and his followers were welcomed to the APC at the party headquarters in Abeokuta South.
Ayodele revealed that the APC has held the top position since its foundation while speaking with PLATFORM TIMES.
“There is nothing like two party in Ogun State,” he declared. APC is the only party we have.
“Since 1999, former Ogun State governor Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and previous governor Ibikunle Amosun have all joined the APC.
Ayodele claimed that his decision to join the party was motivated by a desire to keep up his positive momentum.
According to him, “I have a foundation already because there are many things I have done before coming to APC.
“And joining APC opens up a world of opportunities, including empowering market women and awarding scholarships to deserving students, among many others.
However, Ayodele praised Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration, calling him a leader who is always respectable and attentive to the concerns of the populace.
In addition, he urged his followers and supporters to keep cooperating.
Henry Adetunji Fagbenro welcomed Odufuwa, the APC Chairman in Abeokuta North, and stated IWA and his supporters joining the party is positive for the party.
He added that Ayodele’s choice to join the APC was a good move in the right way.
“It’s another plus one, and a nice thing to do for “someone who has a vision must have ambition,” the chairman remarked.
“With what is happening on the ground and the crowd only now joining, you cannot expect anything less. Where are the other parties?” They don’t even exist.
He added that if more people arrive at the celebration, the party is likely to keep winning.
